Rotating a dedicated Composio project key

If your account runs integrations under a dedicated Composio project key, you can rotate that key from the Environment tab in the Connections section.

What a dedicated project key is

A dedicated project key is a Composio project minted specifically for your account from HIIE's organization key. It gives your account project-level isolation, separate from the shared managed key that other accounts may fall back to. The key is encrypted at rest and never returned to your browser — the Environment tab shows only a masked hint of it.

When to rotate

Rotation replaces your dedicated project key with a fresh one. This is the standard practice when you want to retire a key — for example, as routine hygiene or if you have any concern about a key's exposure. Because HIIE never reveals the full key to the browser, rotation is the way to cycle it.

How to rotate

From the Environment tab, when your account is on a dedicated-project key, use the rotate action. HIIE mints a replacement key server-side and stores it encrypted at rest, the same way the original was handled.

What stays the same

Rotating the key keeps your account on the dedicated-project isolation tier. The health badge on the Environment tab continues to show whether the resolved key is working after rotation.

Alternatives

If you'd rather run integrations under your own Composio organization for maximum privacy, add your own Composio key in the Credentials vault, which moves your account to BYO mode.
