Using 'Smart Label' to tag only your unlabelled files
"Smart Label" is a focused Documents action: it asks Camelia to tag only the files that don't already have a label, without moving or changing anything else.
What it does
Camelia goes folder by folder through the backbone, finds every file whose label is null (unlabelled), and reads enough of each to choose the best smart label — Research, Spec, Design, Legal, Finance, Manufacturing, Marketing, or Misc. She applies the label and ends with a short bullet list of what she labelled and what was already labelled.
What it deliberately doesn't do
Smart Label is intentionally narrow. It does not change files that already have a label, and it does not move anything between folders. That makes it safe to run repeatedly: it only fills in gaps. If you want a fuller cleanup — relabeling everything, deduping, flagging conflicts, and refiling misplaced documents — use the "Organize" action instead, which is the broader pass.
How it runs
Like Organize, Smart Label streams a live run through the same Camelia agent the chat uses, showing progress in a log. When it finishes, the Documents view refreshes so your newly tagged files show their labels right away.
Why bother
Consistent labels make files easy to scan and help downstream features pick the right files — for instance, when an output bundle gathers CAD or sourcing documents by what they are. Smart Label is the quickest way to get every file tagged without touching anything you've already organized by hand.
